Getting to Know Your Sewing Machine: Part 1
This is our first class in this series. Before advancing to other classes, students are required to attend this class. The purpose of this class is to help students become familiar with their sewing machine. Topics include threading machine, needle and thread choice, machine tension, different sewing stitches, recommended sewing tools and how they are used . Students will receive a workbook and sample fabric swatches.
Getting to Know Your Sewing Machine: Part 2A
This class is a continuation of “Getting to Your Sewing Machine: Part 1”. In this class we will use the sewing machine as well as the sewing tools discussed in Part 1. Furthermore this class is an entry into simple clothing design. Students will design and draft an apron pattern. In Part 2B the pattern will be sewn.
*Students bring their own fabric. CJ Sewing Co has sewing machines and tools available for student’s use.

Cargo Skirt: Part 1 and Part 2
Who doesn’t love the classic “cargo” look! As we are still focusing on developing beginning sewing skills, we opted for the cargo skirt. This class is an entry into pattern fitting. Students in this class will draft a simple skirt pattern which will include the patch pockets required for the “cargo” look. . First class session is drafting and pattern fitting. Second class session we will construct the skirt.
*Students are expected to be familiar with drafting. We recommend taking our “Getting to Know your Sewing Machine: Part 2A.
Getting to Know Your Sewing Machine: Part 2B
Born from Getting to Know Your Sewing Machine Part 2, our students requested a Part 2 to our initial Part 2. In this class we will construct the apron pattern drafted in Part 1.

Sunday 30 -30 - 30 Sewing Class
This is a fun class!! Here we begin a new project every thirty minutes. A wallet, a hand sanitizer pouch and a cuff. If you find you like one project, it is okay to use the class time to complete it! However, if you are motivated to start each project and complete the remaining work at home, that is great too! Matter of fact, these would be excellent Christmas gifts! Why not start your Christmas in June.

Beginning Crochet: Class 1
If you have always wanted to learn how to crochet, this class is for you! Besides learning a new skill, crocheting builds fine motor skills and strengthens the fingers and wrist. To stay with the fashion trend of retro sixties, our first project is a simple bag done by single crochet stitching. This is a four week class! Cost is $120 for 8 hours of class time.

Skill Builder: Getting to Know your Sewing Machine
This is class is a great entry into learning the skill of sewing. The purpose is to teach our students the basic functions of a sewing machine. This includes stitches, stitch length, how to tread a sewing machine threading, tension control, needle choice, and basic sewing tools. Upon completion, students will be ready to use their sewing machine for simple projects.
